We pumped particulates into the leading brand air purifiers and used lasers to see what comes out.
The results are shocking.
Most air purifier companies make claims like:
"true HEPA""removes 99.99% of pollutants"
"removes 99.97% of germs"
"destroys pollutants"
But what do these claims mean, and are they even true?
Purpose:
The goal of this test is to see how well different air purifiers filter the air that goes through them.
Setup:
Fog particulates 1-50 microns in size are pumped towards the air purifiers so they get sucked in. Lasers on the sides of the air purifier illuminate any particulates in the air. If there are any particulates in the air coming out of the air purifiers, we will see them. Remember, if the air purifier is working well, particulates should NOT get through it and we should NOT see anything in the air coming out of the unit.
